I replaced the factory stereo with a Pioneer aftermarket because the factory one I had sounded like crap. The 6-disc CD changer that came with it also didn't work (CD stuck in it), but now that I have the aftermarket stereo, I just want to either get it replaced or remove it entirely.
I've seached around for info without much success but has anyone successfully replaced the factory changer or at least been able to connect the factory changer to work with an aftermarket head unit? If the factory changer can hook into an aftermarket head unit, then I'll get another or get this one repaired. But if not, I'd rather junk it and fill in the hole in the trim with some sort of fitted dash pocket or just a flat plastic piece, then get a 10+ disc universal changer under the passenger seat and call it a day.
I just don't like having something that doesn't function sitting in my dash, kinda false advertisement. It's like that empty carton of milk someone left in the fridge, y'know? Looks fine until you pick it up.
