Phoenix Gold RSd 65cs Component speakers installed. Pics below

With the speaker bracket adaptor

Marked a hole for the hole saw

This will end you and all you love

Stock crappy paper cone speaker

PG installed with bracket adaptor

Crossover goes there

The biggest pain was getting the tweeter wire from the A pillar thru the grommet and rubber hose into the door. Other than that, straight forward install. The tweeters don't mount entirely flush so I may need to move it in the future.

And the speakers, they sound good. Lots of mid bass and the tweeters give the crisp highs the stock speakers just couldn't reach.

Good work. Wiring is such a pain in the A$$, but when done right it is well worth it.

Nice install friend. Yeah i noticed that the A pillar has a slight curve where the factory tweet sits. This is gonna be fun when i replace the factory components in mine LOL! BTW where did you get the adapters from? I will need a set or 2

$16.99 a pair on e bay. Search for Nissan speaker adaptor.

After a few days of listening, I need an amp for them. Giving the components 20w RMS when it wants 60w RMS makes them sound weaksauce.

What do you guys think of this?

That should work fine bro. They make good amps with good components. They should sound pretty sweet to be honest.

the Eclipse amps are great, efficient, clean, and have a small footprint. The one you have pictured it last years model the newer ea4200 is a little cleaner, and has newer technology that allows for a little more power. Great amps either way you look at them.

Looks great man, are you running on a stock radio or aftermarket? I want to replace this 6 disc changer with something that sounds better.

Pretty good, $109 after a $20 off promo code on Crutchfield. Came with dash kit and harness and antenna adaptor. USB, SD and CD-R support, motorized faceplate and a pretty nice DSP

Amp installed. The speakers are rated 60W RMS and I was only giving them 20W from the deck. This amp is rated 60Wx2 RMS so it was perfect. It pounds real nice now. Mid bass is great from these speakers but for the full experience, nothing beats the power a tight 10" or a deep 12" sub can produce. Not to mention the car shaking feeling it provides really adds to the experience.

So anyways, I need a sub now...

Using the factory deck for now. I will replace it hopfully after X-Mas.

They are behind a perforated opening in the pillars. I will be replacing them eventually though with a set of Quarts.

The PG tweets makes my ears bleed at high volumes...those little suckers are loud.

Has anyone done any sound proofing on thier doors? I can't tell if the rattling is coming from the metal door or the door panel.

Rattles in the doors... I have a rattle in the passenger side and it disappears if I open the window slightly. Too cold to deal with it now come spring time I will take the door apart again and may dynamat them and grease my window sliders while I am at it.
