What do you guys think of the 5Zigen FN01R-C's?

http://www.5zigenusa.com/application.html

They're 8" wide for the rear, so when I get turbo'd I can put a little more meat back there. I rode in an SR'd s13 last weekend running on 215's and he had NO traction.

My s13 is a red hatch and I was thinking of going with the dark bronze. I'm somewhat color-impaired visually, so any input on that would be helpful. :D

This has solved my indecision about wheels.

They are dirt cheap, clear everything and available in a ton off offsets, colors and sizes.

Very nice wheel for what it is. I've considered them.

Cool. Thanks guys. What about distribution? Discount Tire? I guess I could just call them. Any idea on MSRP?

Eric, how about pics of that 'vert?

Hey repo,

Those wheels look great :thumpup and they are a great price. What have you decided about the Centerlines though?

Either one are awesome.

Well, the Centerlines are killer but I can't get them any wider than 7". When I rode in an SR'd 240 last weekend, I realized I may need to put some fat rubber back there to get grip, or at least have that versatility. I could put 245mm drag radials on the 8" wide wheel with no problem. This would be great for drag racing, but probably not the answer to world-class handling.

My thought was to get 8" wide wheels all the way around and mount the Falken Azenis tires in 225 45 R 17. I think I would get max contact patch with a stiffer sidewall and less side-to-side action with excellent responsiveness.

I could always go with the 7" wide wheel in front, 8" in back and run staggered sizes, but that has it's disadvantages. My last 240 I had set up like that and didn't really like it as much as when I had the same size all the way around.

Any opinions on my theory?

Sounds good to me.

Ive heard that staggered setup causes understeer. But, don't quote me on that.

q45tech always says that the contact patch is the same no matter what the tire size. (given same PSI) So I guess there is an optimum contact patch shape?

I certainly felt that the staggered sizes did promote understeer that transitioned to oversteer without much warning. Didn't like it. Running the same size made it more neutral and predictable.

Do you mean wheel size? How does a 225 have the same size contact patch as a 245? Or a 275?

tire size. a 225 will have a longer and a 275 will have a wider. Both the same area

at least thats what I think.

Nothing new and exciting, just the tried and true SR20. I've been unique and different before and it was just really an expensive headache. The aftermarket seems pretty good for SR's. I've toyed with building a KA, but it'll cost more than I want to budget.

The new job is pretty intense, but should pay off in the long run. I'm still in somewhat of a training period and waiting to get in on the finance department income. When that happens, it won't be long before I start planning the swap. Thanks for asking!

If anyone hasn't seen, my employer is http://www.indyhummer.com Pretty cool trucks.

The SR seems like a good choice. Of course, I'd love a KAT but it may not be worth the headache

A S15 SR, six-speed, and helical dif is even cooler

I will have to take some when it stops raining around here. I stopped washing my car because it has been raining about every two days. That shutdown todays welding project to eliminate some of my chassis flex. I will get pics up next time the sun comes out.
