My i30 has 180 k miles on it. What grade synthetic oil should I put in for this mileage? I have some synthetic Mobil 5w30 from Costco. Are they good?

Thank you

5W-40 ...

I'd bet your car would like Rotella T6.

thanks for reply.

i'll consider that. i live in san jose, ca. we have moderate cold weathers. i saw that even costco has 5w-40s. would there any significant change by using 5w-40? walmart has 1 gallon of that rotella. and how much oil would i30 take?

thanks.

Do not use 5w40. I'm assuming the reply above was sarcasm, but you should definitely not use that in it.

The 5w30 you have from Costco will be fine for your oil change and is the recommended weight for your car. You could probably bump up to a 10w30 on the next oil change, but if you don't have any leaks I wouldn't bother.

hi..no leaks as of yet. i was wondering why wouldn't costco sell if they are suitable in my area/weather.

i believe they are selling 10w30. once my current stash is over, i'll have to get next one.

thanks again.
