Replaced transmission oil w/ valvoline synpower about 1/2 year ago. Just recently I started noticing that there would be a brief metal clicking when shifting fast into 5th. I can get it into 5th, but you can feel the resistance along w/ hearing the sound. It doesn't sound like the transmission is grinding,, but more like the shifter lever iself is rubbing past some sort of metal part.

The KA24DE trans has 113+ k miles on it, new clutch and flywheel 1/2 year ago.

It sounds as if the syncronizer maybe hanging up in 5th gear.

maybe your Bushing socket is worn out. Its at the end of your lever inside the trans..Typical symptom of it would be a very sloppy shifter.
