I'm about to take the leap and make my vert a 5spd. I only have one question that I can't answer from the board here...

If I swap the transmission and keep the automatic ECU, will I be able to pass emissions tests? I've got an s13, so that's OBD1. Where I live, they put OBD1's on a damn treadmill and sniffer. OBD2's just get the computer plug-in that tells them if the monitors are all in 'ready' status.

Ohhhh how I want obd2... but I digress...

My question is this: does anybody have a swapped car that has passed emissions with either ECU? I just want to make sure I can get this baby inspected when I need to....

theory or experience appreciated. I don't know enough about fuel maps and these ecu's to know whether or not it will matter.
