I have done the whole search thing and came up empty. Does anyone know how to (exactly) jumper out the neutral safety switch on a 1990 S13 hatch. Has anyone done it and can tell me what to do? I bought this alarm off of ebay. It has the remote start option and it also says that the neutral safety function must be disabled. If anyone can help, please do. It gets down to the teens here and I hate to go outside to start my car.http://www.hktuning.com/Nana/E...m.jpg

all you have to do is unplug the neutral safety switch and bridge it

there is a switch by the clutch pedal just like your brake light switch. look under the dash and push down on the clutch pedal. you will see a switch with a connector. just unplug it and bridge it.

i put these things in constantly since I live and work in Montana. I feel your pain on the cold stroll to start the car. But honestly, the neutral switch isn't something to skimp on. It should be attached to the proper wire so the Remote Start knows your car isn't in gear. I swear to all that is holy, everyone I know who has ever bypassed that safety feature has regretted it. All it takes is for a roommate to move your car to get out of the garage, or a guest to sit in your car and either one can leave it in gear and you end up running your car through a wall or into another parked car. i would highly recommend against that route. just for the sake of your car and your sanity.

agreed. doing a remote start is very dangerous just for the fact that you or someone will put it in gear instead of neutral and parking brake and once you push the button, that fukcer will jump and mostlikely hit something.

but most manual transmissions don't have sensors that figures out what gear/or if its in neutral (that i know off) like the automatic transmissions.

All 240's have a neutral gear sensor. A lot of other cars have them too, for the ECU

doesnt matter bridge the wires and forget about parking the car and putting it in gear. I've done this to both of my cars, although i never put the car in gear after i park it. Use the park brake.
