5spd conversion problem

whats up,im havin some trouble i think i figured it out but to make sure.when the car turns on u can't go into gear but when it off it goes in fine,when the car was on i tried every gear 1,2,3 didn't go in,4 grinded.I have and s14 wit s13 transmission but i think whats wrong is that i have s13 master and slave cylinder am I right,someone plese help me.one more thing how can i make my check engine light go away cuz I turned the car on in 1st gear and the overdrive light blinks 5 times then the check engine light goes on.Someone help me wit my problems thanks

damn I misread...My guess is you have a problem with the hydrolics, or the clutch fork isn't in right.....have some one watch under the car while you press the clutch to see if the shift fork is being pushed by the slave...

If it's a 96+ I think there is an extra sensor on the trans that the S13's and 95's didn't have, you might need it (I think you can drill a hole in a OBDI transmission to fit the sensor)

That or you didn't bypass the shift lock...?

the over drive light....did you make sure to disconnect the old wiring under the auto shifter?? i had the same problem when i converted my s13

this is gonna suck but i did the same thing u forgot to put in the stick pilot bushing lol its the bushing that goes in the middle of the flywheel i had to do everything over just to tell u i paid i believe $3 for the bushing which pissed me off even more that it was so freaking cheap
