so I am going to do a 5sp swap on my 1996 240sx and I got a transmission from a 1991 to use and rebuilt it... well I didnt realise that the auto has a crank sensor installed in it and that the manual will also have to have that crank sensor in it also.

well is there anyone out there that got this to work,

did you:

drill hole in manual transmission and eqoxy sensor in to manualfind a way to trick that computer into thinking it is installed...

let me know what you all have done with this

BTW I am currently looking for a s14 transmission at this time but having no luck...

later

S14 transmission: http://www.car-part.com.

And the speed sensor is diffferent, so you need one for your S14 anyway...it's best to get an S14 trans.

But there is no way to emulate that, you need to install it to avoid a CEL.

BUT...that sensor is NOT used for tuning...it's just used to help diagnose misfire (cylinder location)...

FYI...

Please note that the crankshaft position sensor is not used for tuning on Nissans. On many other vehicles the car will not run without it.

If you have to pass OBDII emissions, your best bet is to get a S14 transmission and sensor. By drilling your own hole, you will have to get the location right, as well as the air gap.
