5k rpm limit in every gear!! help!!

every time i go up to 5k rpm, theres a limiter that wont let me go beyond that point. it happens in every gear...the stock limiter is supposed to be only on 4th and 5th ( if im not mistaken)...but this is weird. earlier today, it was fine. this happened all of a sudden. during the whole day, it has been running fine and even now it's running good. so what could cause the limiter?

check your tps (throttle position sensor) Sometimes these end up out of adjustment all of a suddon because of poor tightening from a service or something. This sensor is on your intake manifold on the oppisite side of your cable linkage in a little black box.

the tps is on pretty tight. but it still has the same symptoms...could a vacuum leak cause this sort of thing? need help...

no, a vaccum leak wouldnt do that. All I can guess is its your speed sensor. Maybe its shorted or out of adjustment. I dont really know what to say.

i just set up an appointment at my local trusty shop for march 7th (long wait...techs are going to d1 next week ). they were actually surprised when i told em about my problem. they said they havent heard of any nissan having my problem. any of you hear about this before?? because i know i sure havent.

the limit is gone!! just all of a sudden it went away...but prior to that, i resetted the ecu, checked my 5th gear switch (it was fine), and started shifting at 2500ish. what a weird thing to happen..im just glas its gone now. thanks for the help fellas.

now i dont needa spend all that money to get it diagnosed! my intakes here now and im gona order some pulleys so the upper bands are gona be needed

maybe your car hates you, and its getting back at you for pushing it to much. 240's have a tendency to have a personality all on its own. That poor 240sx...tisk tisk...
