what are your goals for the vehicle? You into auto x, road course, scca, drag? We gotta have some place to start. Is it completely stock?

I think he’s asking a rhetorical question geared to each person’s own agenda for their car. Maybe people should list what they would use the 5k for as well as the intended use of their car.

For me it would be to get an S15 Rear End and 6spd transmission. Then bigger injectors, S-AFC, DC Sports mani, GT2871R, and what ever money I had left over would go to Valvetrain Mods and Intercooler.

My goal for my car is a very quick street car, that I would take to the track (auto-x and time attack) whenever money and time allowed.

You've already got the sr20? w/the 6-spd (hopefully?)

then in that awsome-case scenario I would

-spend 4K on footwork (including wheels)- boost controller- exhaust- flywheel

And then i would definitely go buya body kit b/c my slightly tweaked 240zenki already sways on the highway when the wind is blowing hard, downforce like a mof*kka is needed - i already have been scared a coupla times @ about 90mph.

well this is what i'll do

ARC front mount intercooler. manni with turbo extentionHKS cams metal head gasketand better ingenctors.

that is all since i already have s15 stuff. so no need to upgrade the turbo yet.

and if there is any money left it would go for a piggy back unit.

The 6sp does not crap out at 300-350 hp. I only plan on making about 325-350man hp anyways, but there are plenty of drift cars putting 400hp or more that use the 6 spd. (Also the S15 comes with 250 hp stock, so 50hp more and the transmission goes? highly unlikely). Also, The hp isn't really what dictates the failure of a transmission; it is the torque as well as the torque curve.

I do have an SR20DET already (not installed yet), but it is assuming I have found someone that would rather trade me for my 5 spd (because 6 speeds apparently suck) and maybe plus cash. I believe what I wrote would easily fall below 5k.

this is kinda a pointless thread.........but i'm feeling good so i'll play along

i'd go:suspension - $1000wheels/tires - $1000extrude hone head and exaust mani - $1000rear end and clutch, flywheel - $1000engine management and dyno tune - $1000

and it just keeps going up from there. i'd try and fit in some z32 brakes in there some where and maybe a 5-lug swap as well could be added if and was left. then rebuild the engine then upgrade the turbo.

i would take the head apart, port&polishthe ports & the combustin chamber, port the intake manifold, a set of hks 264 deg. dur., stainless steel valves, double wound valve springs, 1.6mm hetal head gasket, fmic, 650cc injectors, wideband02, bigger turbo, then some fully adjustable coilovers 16x8'' rims, really good rubber, larger sway bars, boost controller, turbo timer, JWT ecu tune, dyno tune. but that would prolly put you past 350hp

lol, i mean that the price just keeps going up. you can't limit your self to XXX amount of dollars. you jsut work and work and work and throw all of your expendable income at your car till you decide that there is something more important in life that requires your attention.

in any case i think the list i provided could be achived in around 5k.....give or take a few things.
