Alright so what I'm wondering is which fuel injectors to go for? I'm looking at 550cc injectors and have found 3 different types that I'm looking at purchasing. Tell me guys which one looks like the best deal? Keep in mind that I have a stock fuel rail and I would love to eventually upgrade my fuel injectors in the future.

I'm personally thinking z1 but what do you guys think? I'm on a bit of a budget.

so we assume you have an early (90-93) car and if thats the case the Z1 injector price does nto include the "kit" to adapt then to your fuel rail or wire harness, the czp kit includes the adapters needed

Right good point, I have a 90 TT Z, however I was looking at getting the 550 cc's from Z1 and getting the adapter kit. Anyways I think I get what your hinting at... czp. Thanks appreciate it.

What's your budget for this conversion, and what are your future plans with the car?

Here's what I'm looking at.. the 550cc fuel injectors with the adapter kit. The adapter kit will in the future allow me to upgrade the fuel injectors even more so. Right now with everything that I'm looking at getting it's going to be around $750 range which is my budget. Which isn't too bad I don't think. The fuel injectors along with an eprom chip 550cc from czp I think is going to work for me. I really want to save up to upgrade the fuel injectors to 740cc. However, I think that's going to run me somewhere around $950? So I'm going to put the 550cc's in til I can save enough for the 740's. I'm also planning in the future to install a godspeed intercooler as well as a BOV. I want to purchase and install the intercooler and the BOV sometime before August, and get the upgraded fuel injectors before I have to go back to school in September. So that's my plan any other ideas or suggestions for me?

Being totally honest, I have a few:

1) Go with JWT, Specialty Z or Ztuner for the EPROM/ECU upgrade. Better companies (both in products and ethics) and better price (at least Ztuner and Specialty Z).

2) Do not get a front mount intercooler (FMIC). I'm not sure if you intend to get the Godspeed SMIC (side mounts, OEM position) or what, because you said intercooler singular. Many people have good things to say about the Godspeeds. This guy makes custom ducts for them, as the OEM ducts won't work. And you need ducts for ICs to work their best.

3) BOVs offer 0 performance benefit. 0. Actually, less than 0, as they cause your car to run rich momentarily while shifting. Your stock recirc valves are up to the task of preventing compressor surge, even with upgraded turbos.

4) Unless you plan on upgrading turbos, the 550s are fine, and the 740s offer no advantage over them for stock turbos. Even when you do upgrade, the 550s will handle most small upgrades. But if you definitely want the 740s for turbo plans in the future, which is fine, then wait and get them. You'll loose money on the 550s and you'll need another EPROM(ECU) program for the 740s, another $100. If you can do onesie twosie injector replacement of your old styles until you have enough saved for a 740 set up, that may be the best move. 740's with 300° fuel rails are an excellent fuel delivery option.

I haven't seen ads for them lately, but here is an option for some top-feed injectors. Cheaper, locally sourceable injectors, easier to replace, more options. Email them to check on availability. Or you can check with this guy to see if he still has his set for sale.

That's my two pennies

Hey BigTDogg if i were to eventually buy the Z1 GT600R turbo's but wanted to buy the bigger injectors first which to do you recommend honestly because i want to have an as realible as possible 500hp car because i think thats as far as i want to build it.so should i get conceptZ injectors or the WIN Factory Top Feed Fuel Rail? 740cc or 870cc? Also what other supporting mods should i have before i buy the bigger turbo's

I'd go WIN over anything CZP sells. I spent thousands over the years at CZP, but they haven't seen a penny from me in years because of, ironically, the fake 300° fuel rails they were selling.

Might just be best to do the injectors and turbos all at once. Here's my thinking:

When you pull the engine, you install a 1995 EFI harness. This will have the 95+ style injector connectors on it already. All you'd need to do is buy a 95+ CAS and cut/solder/crimp your A/C signal wire. Then you have the benefit of switched injector power and the new connectors, not to mention every other connector is now brand new. If you go that route, I recommend the 300° rails with Nismo 740cc/min injectors. They require no serious plenum modifications (other than grinding the bridge for #1 connector access, very minor and 10 minutes with a dremel). You can plumb them in series or dual parallel, and they're a very nicely designed, well performing product.

I don't have any first hand experience with the WIN product, though it's design is nice and the parts look great. Using off the shelf, commonly available Bosch top feed injectors is ingenious, and makes injector replacement super easy and cheaper. I haven't seen any flow data on the rail, or seen any dyno tests of anyone using those rails, but the promise is there.

740cc/min injectors would be plenty of flow for the 600R turbos, 870 would just give you a little more headroom, but you won't max out 740s with the GT600R.

When you do the turbos, I'd also HIGHLY recommend the MSP exhaust manifolds. I have them with my tiny Sport 500s, and the difference is absurd. The car spools so quick it's crazy.

Other supporting mods are really only limited by your budget. 58mm throttle bodies with the 2.5" intake plumbing and 2.5" outlet ICs will widen your powerband and increase total output. So will a full 3" exhaust with SpecialtyZ 3" expansion downpipes.

the cost difference for the larger ijectors is very minimal, the cost of having another ecu flashed will make it much mroe expensive to do ti twice

if you are running stock turbo's right now you have no need for larger injectors, if you want to upgrade to support 500 crank hp, the 555's will do fine, if you want to support 500 whp you'll want the 740's, either way you'll need you'll need an ecu tuned to match your injectors, and you'll want cone intake, cat back exhaust, (downpipes will make ti easier to reach your goals) upgraded side mount intercoolers, to get 500 whp you'll want doolz and the ecu will need to be tuned for that as well

or to make it simpler, if you want 500 crank hp

if you want 500 whp

I will take all this into consideration.the WIN factory fuel rail seems like such a great deal and very simple easy install.also ill be sure to buy the MSP exhaust manifolds with DP's and TP's with probably a B&B exhaust.thanks for the help.

The DoolZ is not a good dual intake system.

^^Yes i do plan on buying the 740cc injectors now thanks to the great info from you and BigTdogg with probably the WIN factory fuel rail.also i will be ordering Doolz from Z1 along with the FMIC extension since i got a front mount and dont want it to interfer with the air intakes so my setup will be similiar to Z1's Russel's vert and i think am going to take duel MAF running to make sure my A/F ratio is right on..

Thanks BigTDogg appreciate all the help and advice on the fuel injector project I'm about to undertake. I'm pretty new to working on my car having only done a few upgrades such as brakes, rotors, plugs and the standard oil change. Can't wait to get my fuel injectors and the adapter kit sounds like it's good for new style injectors.. honestly I just want to get my TT Z up to about 450 horsepower and I'd be perfectly happy with that. So I won't get the BOV and I'll get the godspeed sidemounts and the intercooler ducts as well. Anything else I should put into that car that could get me closer to my 450 hp goal?

The Selin Dual MAF translator. That, with your other mods should be plenty for 450 crank HP, roughly 375RWHP. AKA, a very quick Z. :bigthumb:

I've seen those.. you drop those right in don't you? Don't have to use an adapter kit or anything? Just new electrical connections? I want to get an adapter kit with my fuel injectors so that in the future I can potentially upgrade my fuel injectors with new style injectors.

Thanks though pahaf I actually researched those fuel injectors on fiveo and have been calling czp and Z1 as well and they've told me that it's good to have the adapter kit if I would further like to upgrade the fuel injectors to bigger newer injectors in the future. I'm just trying to make sure I cover all my bases with this adapter kit that I'm getting to make sure it's exactly what I need. Maybe further down the line I'll do a turbo upgrade as well, but right now I'm just trying to hit that 380-450 range like I was telling BigT.

well are you sure that u will get the adapeter kit? casue these injectrors are a drop in into the 90-93 fuel rail. my injectors, and the ones that CZP and Z1 sells.

And they're the older pintle style as well, and will fail quicker with the ethanol in our fuels. If you can guarantee there will be no ethanol in your fuel, then go for it. But otherwise, it's foolish to buy higher flow rate pintle style injectors. They will fail. SIGNIFICANTLY sooner than the pintleless new style.

Right BigT, that's what I figured on those fuel injectors from Fiveo. Better to spend a little extra and get something a little better than have to once again spend dollars on more fuel injectors. BigT are you an admin or something for the site? You know your s***!

Not an admin on any site, just a Z32 owner and enthusiast for the last 8+ years who has an obsession with information. I try to share my experiences so others can learn from what I've done wrong (and right sometimes, lol).

Nicccceee well I just found out today that the JECS 550cc injectors I'm looking at have pintles which suck :( Like we talked about earlier I guess I'm going to have to find some 91 or 93 non-oxygenated gas here in MN which there are a few places that actually have it. However, with the new adapter kit, I should be able to eventually upgrade the fuel injectors to the new pintle-less style which is the goal. Also found out that specialtyz has blank eprom chips that they map specifically for the mods and the type of vehicle that a person owns. So I'm really excited to make it happen!

Like I said before, if you've got one or two dead injectors, the best move IMO is to replace them with known working used ones until you've saved enough for a proper conversion to the new style larger flowrate injectors. You get experience working on your car it'll be less headache and expense than upgrading twice.

Yeah, they're pretty awesome, and great guys to work with. Most other independent tuners will do the same thing, but the knowledge at SZ is truly impressive.

I guess that makes sense.. but should I get an adapter kit right away? So that I won't have to spend a butt load on the kit and new injectors? Or should I just get them as a package deal from someone like Z1 or czp? I kinda feel like if I get stock injectors and the kit then I'm killing two birds with one stone?

BigT is there a write up anywhere for how to do the fuel injectors on the car?
