i dunno why my car dose this but maybe u can help.. i have replaced my KA with a lower milage KA and i have removed the sendary butterfly valves.. but my car is stock open header right now, the car pulls real good but, when i hit 5500 rpm's it starts pulling harder like v-tech or something i dunno why it dose this, i have 2 friend that have intake and ehaust and i kill them and their cars die after 5500 rpm, i was wondering if my TPS could be off or somting. i would like it to to this hard at all times.. It might just be me i dont know but if u know anything feel free to replythanks

Maybe your cars just faster???? I know when I ran with a straight pipe it felt like I was still pulling after 5500, then when I got a resonator put it dies after 5500. I dont think resonators hurt performance so the only conclusion I could come to was it just sounds like your goin alot faster than you really are(honda syndrom) But Im about to remove my secondary butterfly, Im glad to see it makes a difference. Also why fix if its not broke? Your pulling hard so just leave it.

My car does the same thing at 5500rpm. My butterflies are still in.

the reason it seems to pull harder at 5500 is because thats when your torque peaks, and your horsepower at that rpm is rather high too, making it pull all the way up to about 6700, thats when i shift mine and usually it works pretty good.
