5500 redline....thats not right...

ok my car is working again... i got tired of messing with it and sent it off to have an engine installed in it, well when i got it back the car will not go past 5500, it just bounces off a revlimited, well i want to know who to remove it so i can have my stock redline back 6500. please someone give me detailed instructions on how to remove this problem. i have a 1990 nissan 240sx. with a ka24e. i have checked the timing, the ignition timing, and i have concluded that nothing mechanical is causing this, so its something electronic. please help me.....

Check the 5th gear switch on the transmission. Dunno if it's supposed to be open or closed, but 240's are limited to 5500 rpm in 5th gear I believe. So if its stuck, your ECU thinks you're in 5th gear all the time. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Hope I helped you out.
