Hello I am trying to find information fast before i waste the little money that i have, i am interested in buying a 240 and swapping in an sr20 block, i havent found the right 240 yet but i have found a great price on an sr20 block, but my question is can i swap it into any 240? its casting number is 53J-SR20 and i was thinking of either buying an s14 or s13, they dont know what car the block came out of but say its from a 91-95 will this work in any 240sx? and also i was planning on turbocharging the motor. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it just the block? Or do you know for a fact is it an NA SR?

sounds like if its free might as well take it other wise be prepared to unload the dollar dollar bills to get it into a usable motor.

idk what to say, sounds like if your going to rebuild anyway, you might as well get a complete engine anyway.

My RWD SR is stamped 52F and from what I can tell, the 53J's were FWD SR's (link: http://www.sr20forum.com/sr20d....html).Edit: S14 SR's are apparently 65F's.

That $140 block, does it come with the main-caps and the cradle? Is it tapped on the exhaust side of oil and water for turbo (I really dont know my FWD SRs lol).

If you want to drive up to Orlando, I should have a RWD SR block for $140 that is ready for machine work (and I am not talking about that tubgirl crap I posted in the other thread).

lol, yeah dude dont buy it, buy a longblock or something.

Ive seen longblocks on ebay that have low compression in one cyl for about $400.

Be aware! Don't buy it! I own a 240sx and a 200Sx. The 53j is 100% fwd na sr20 witch will not fit in a 240sx! Look at were the disty goes, now imagine your engine in the car and the disty would have to go through the firewall! Also fwd engine mounts. And brackets are not even close to the same. Not to mention fwd sr's are lowport intakes and rwd sr's are highport intake manifolds.

Well you guys were a little late haha so I bought it and that's terrible news considering I was going to use this block for drifting so a FWD won't do. Anyone interested in a FWD block? Haha. And DUcky I'm only about 2 hours from Orlando so if you still have it I'm very interested!

If you need to hawk the block off, I would do so in the classifieds, not in this forum. Also, you will need to host images in a service like photobucket and then use [IMG] tags here to display them.
