52 Degrees BTC after timing chain replacement...HELP!!!

so it has been a long 3 months. thought i could do this work over spring break and couldnt finish it. After getting the gasket i needed, i put everything back together today. it didnt start at first but did after i advance the timing. i put the timing light on and it came out to be 52* BTC....i dont know what to do...i was thinking to just move my plugs around so it dose fire at the right time....would this even work or do i have to rip everything apart again????? PLZ HELP

Did you make sure to put the chain on properly?The chain and gears have marks on them so you can properly put the chain on.

ya i put it on as close as i could, but the motor had a lot of slop when i was torquing everything. so i worked for a few days making sure i did it right. really the only thing that might be off is the oil pump because of the spline gear..but im REALLY close..about 30 degrees

Well then you need to reset the motor to TDC, make sure the cam and crank are both aligned correctly, then pull the oil pump with gear and the distributor and realign those correctly. Remember, the distributor lines up with the oil pump drive gear, so it that wasnt installed correctly, then neither is the distributor.

yah i figured i would have to do it again. i was trying to figure it out without redoing.
