I just picked up a 4 door sedan and the PO never installed seatbelts. I know these had seatbelts in them originally, I just don't know were all the anchor points would be. Did they come with 3 point belts originally? I now there should be a nut welded in the transmission tunnel, but on the door side I am not sure where the anchor points are at. Does anyone have pictures of a bare interior? I will be installing 3 point rectractable seat belts.

Three-pointers in the front became mandatory in the US in '68, so unless your car is a JDM or other import it came with 3-front and 2-rear. I've heard excellent things about the retractables from SeatbeltPlanet.

Its definitely not an import, at least I don't think it is. Its just that the headliner and carpet are covering the locations of where the seatbelt would mount to. I don't want to cut into the headliner and I am not really sure how to safely remove it so I can see where the upper mounting location is. From what I could find in a Google search, it looks like it is right at the top of the door, maybe a few inches back. I might just install lap belts for now so I can at least drive it around.

Just an update.
After a lot of research I found what I needed. There is a 7/16-20 nut in the top door jamb. On the 4 door it is about 4" back from the center post. I don't have a picture of it, but I will post one soon.

I finally got pictures of my belts installed.
So the 7/16-20 nut is about 4" from the edge of the door. I got my belts from Seatbeltsplus.com for my other car and decided to use them in this. I had to find a drop bracket of some sort because it was uncomfortable having that strap right next to my face. I got a 8" seat belt extension that works great from OEMseatbelts.com. I eventually want to buy the same belts but with the drop built into it and use these for the back seat if possible. I don't know if anyone has put retractable 3 point belts in the back.
