This thing is crazy. http://story.news.yahoo.com/ne..._dc_1

Going 300 mph is pretty crazy in a car but on a motorcycle, that's just insane.

my opinion is that thing is retarded...the risk associated at 200+ mph is so high...thats exactly wat we need...for those who could afford it since im assuming it would cost as much if not more than a viper, is a bunch of idiots racing down city streets at 150mph on beefed up crotch rockets...queer.

it has four wheel independent suspension, so four tires, so is it really a motorcycle? i'd rather have a boss hoss with a 502.

well if it was four wheels, it's not a bike. HA! what bull$hit a bike is a vehical that runs off of 1-2 cylinders and im pretty sure that that thing has more then 2 cylinders and have two (2) wheels not two wheels that are connected by another set of two wheels but two independent wheels

that thing is gay. its has to be the motorcycle version of the fast and the furious. jsut made to get people that dont know anything to get into trends, it worked on me but i woke up. i dont know a lot about bikes but i wanna see the idiot that buys that try to lean into a turn going faster than 20mph. who puts 1500lbs and 500hp on 4 bmx wheels

Actually. the majority of the Japanese sportbikes (Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki & Yamaha) are all inline 4 cyl (except for the RC51 which is a V-twin). And you're right....noone in there right mind would try to turn going 150+mph, although many people still do wheelies :) And for those who don't know much about bikes, those 600cc bikes will do 0-60mph in less than 3 secs and 1/4 mile in the 10 sec range with top speed at 150-160mph. Those times, of course, are by professionals. The fastest I ran was a 11.5 on the 1/4mile and I am far from being a professional. And those 1000+cc sportbikes can reach 200mph. And all these times are stock by the way. Notice I said "sportbikes".....the cruisers and those damn Harley hogs can maybe make 12 secs 1/4 mile on a good day hehe.

That bike looks like the ones in AKIRA... How you like your f4i man? I was considering getting that till i got my VTR. (10 sec 1/4 no problem :) ) Raw speed is not the goal of a motorcycle... its not even that fun dragging in one. The real fun is in the corners and twisties, where you find out if you got the balls to drag knee guard or not ( on a track of course)

I love the F4i! I've only been riding for about a year now, and the F4i is by far the easiest sportbike that I've ridden. Before the CBR, I was ready to buy the Yamaha R6....that is until I actually rode it. Man, every low-speed manuever I tried making I ended up losing balance and putting my foot down. Plus the handlebars were in a position where I found my wrists/arms kept on hitting the gastank. Not very confidence inspiring. How do u like your VTR?

its great, i recommend riding a v twin sport bike (ducati, vtr, rc51) If you have only ridden 4s as of yet...its an incredible feeling when the powerband has pull everywhere, a lot less shifting is required. It falls into the turns as well, it feels odd going in turn anything less than 50..:) Vtr is great, (its the same as a rc51 other than a different gear ratio) I drove my friends f4i and liked it, it seems average till you pull it up and start shifting at redline, the front tire just starts to lift up by itself... CBRs are great race bikes, a buddy o mine races a f3 semi pro, and its sweet:)

just wondering, how is a bike supposed to run off 1 cylinder?or did you mean 1 cylinder plus one pedal :P

jeesus that thing is sick

i couldnt even imagine driving something like that. id honestly rather have it be somehow enclosed with a cage for the rider, and a 4 cylinder turbo as opposed to the heavy motor it has.

Less weight of motor, leaves more weight for saftey. Could you image a cop trying to catch you on that?

I was listening to something about this on the way to work this morning. They said that they don't even know if they will produce it but if they do, it will cost like $250k and there will only be a couple hundred produced. Seems like a waste to me but I'm sure some rich people will buy it if they make it.

They are called "thumpers".

Most if not all of the Royal Enfields are single cylinder and there are many manufacturers who still make them. Even the new recumbent bike whose name escapes me at the moment is a thumper.

The Tomahawk is one crazy bike. I remember the first time I saw a V-8 Boss Hoss. I thought that was wild. But putting a 8.3L V-10 on a bike is rediculous. Who has the balls to do 300 mph on a 1500 lbs bike? But then again, I can't afford the $250K price tag so I can't talk.

mabey your not listening... the boss hoss and all those other huge *** bikes would be creamed on the streats.... Thier cornering ability is nill. theyd have to slow to 30 to make any turn or risk grinding thier fairing or pipes. The only thing those bikes are good for is dragging or cruising. Who has balls to do 300 on a 1500 pound bike? hmm, i hit close to 200 on a bike about 500 pounds.......1500 gives you a helluva lot more base

I rode a V-Max in college - At the time (for one year) it was the fastest production vehicle available for purchase (cool statistic). Check it out, for those of you who are too young to recall them. One of the COOLEST looking street bikes of its time. Wasn't much for the twisties, but the roll-on power was EVIL.

Rode an R1 recently - I'd have to say that it's a damn near PERFECT bike. What great balance that thing has. I pulled a 50-yard wheelie after riding it for less than an hour (and I have NEVER done that before on ANY bike).

Rode a Boss Hoss-type bike two years ago (belongs to a guy who works for Titan Motorcycles, which is one mile from my house). Vette motor in a tube frame cruiser... Actually pretty docile at low speeds but terribly impractical.

No one wants to hear about my 81 GS 550, my 84 Interceptor and my 89 Radian...:D

The VMax is still the king of the V. V-4 anyway. How many other bikes do you know of that are essentially unchanged for the last 18 years? Even HD guys show respect to the VMax. It's also more comfortable than any sportbike I've sat on.

It's a beautiful machine.

Wish I still had it - I loved pulling away from CBR's and Ninja's (back in the day).

i would ride the SH(crap)IT out that thing.

imagine putting the front two wheels in the air going 75 mph in 4.5 seconds

if the thought of going 400 mph isnt exciting i dont know what is.

man, if i could get it on credit($240k).i could rob banks for a living.and sponsored by NIKE (i'm sure it would be a feat controlling that demon going 200+ mph)

well i hate to ressurect this now, but just thought someone should point out that its not just the hp that get you speed, you need proper aerodynamics...an 800 hp brick wall would not neccesarily get to 200mph...most regular sports bikes have the potential to reach 215-220 but top out at around 180-190 because of the aero "wall". Fairing helps, but normally doesnt eclose all the drag causing parts. Cars have less drag because their is less exposed parts. Thats why proper aero tuning is so imp...not that 11" high bookshelf that some people slap on their cars, but a well designed, wind-tunnell tested, wing. again...sorry for bringin this back up, but aerodynamics is something thats overlooked too much.
