Not my car it's my friend's car. 92 coupe with HUD 5spd. In 1-4 and neutral he has a rev limit at 5k rpm. Swapped MAFSSwapped ECU'sUnplugged 5th gear sensor and speed sensor. It's got to be the 5th gear sensor right? That's what ti has been for everyone else. So why with it unplugged do I still have problems??Shorting out somewhere?

I did that..... so I thought. I had a misunderstanding of which plug was which. I unplugged the neutral switch instead of the 5th gear lol.

Quick question. Is the fifth gear sensor just there to limit your rpm's in fifth? Kind of a speed control? Also, is the rev limiter 5000 or 5200? I'm using a 95 auto ecu with Bikirom and have a manual map loaded on it, but I'm stuck with a 5200 rpm rev limit. It doesn't really bother me because the supercharger makes power down low, but I would like to figure it out. Any help is as always appreciated.

ThanksWatty

when the 5th gear sensor goes bad, it always stays on, instead of just turning on when you are in 5th gear. unplugging the sensor will solve the problem
