I thought having to buy a new key for the Q was expensive, but if you lose your Bugatti Veyron key, it will cost you $5000.

The Veyron features a thrill-seeking “top speed mode,” which must be activated at a standstill by turning a key in a special lock on the driver's-side floor. As if a magic password was uttered, the car hunkers down to a superslim 2.6 inches in the front and alters the position of the rear spoiler to enable motoring at above 230 miles per hour. There's also the aptly named “launch mode” which is designed to take the car from a standing start to its highest speed in one dramatic burst. The sprint to 62, after all, happens in under 3 seconds.

Well worth it, I am sure, if you can afford the $1.2M price tag.

Just noticed the rebuilt Daytona wining Ferrari from 1962 went for $9.8M at auction.

This is how I started my Ford Explorer for a while. The ring outside the key came apart from the tumbler, so one day the ring turned without moving the tumbler, breaking the key in half.

A friend was finally able to fish out the remaining half of the key with a paper clip, and I was good to go. Kept the screwdriver in the glovebox in case it happened again.

That was a nice SUV, from what I can recall. I might buy another for business.

Once I get the new memory card for my camera I'll post up my ultra rare genuine MOMO key for the Q.
