50 or 57 trim?

My s14 is going to be a 10psi daily driver, but I want to be able to do 15psi runs occasionally. Which trim would be better in terms of peak HP and boost threshold?

50 trim...no questions, has been debated plenty as of late. The maps are far superior with the 50

search for a post in this section (by me :D ) titled "choosing the right turbo: compressor maps," somethin like that. There are maps all plotted out and whatnot in there. Hey WD, maybe we can get that post sticked?

50

look at the map, a 50 is a FAR better map, not to mention that the 57 essentially is on its way out and the 50-trim is one of the newer designed wheels.

Better spool, better efficiency, and a MEAN pump gas turbo :) Efficeient on a KA from probably about 8 pounds to somewhere in the low 20s.

Unfortunately those beautifully plotted maps no longer work on the link...for me anyhow.

I'll tell you all how a 54 trim on a T04 B compressor (.60 a/r) works soon...Had I had the $550 I'd have opted for the 50 trim T04E as wel, but for $360 for a remanufactured T3/T04B, I figured what the hell.

My T3 super 60 is soon to be upgraded to a T3/T04B-Best part about the upgrade is that I'm only going to lose about $50 after I sell my previous turbo, which is like new.

Actually, I'm kind of nervous about the whole upgrade--The last thing I want to have is a lag monster, especially considering the car's a daily driver and will see some auto-x in the near future. I'm curious to see the throttle response/spool characteristics of a straight T3 super 60 vs the t3/t04b...But man, I was so sick of that boost falling off up top.
