I finally got around to purchasing all the necessary pieces to finish a 5-speed swap to make my car look as OEM as possible (hooray!).. my auto transmission died and the last 5 months has been crappy without a running car.
I have a couple questions that remain unanswered by the FSM, stickies, or swap dvds because none of them were written assuming i'm using the harness from a MT, so I need a couple quick answers because the labor will be done on in about 48 hours (friday). I apologize in advance if any of the text is confusing, I will post pics upon request.
1. I have purchased a lower harness for the mt from FTSPORT.com(http://www.frsport.com/Genuine-OEM-Niss ... 12956.html)
well I read in a few posts that the harness is NOT as simple as plug and play as the car's main harness was built for an automatic. So yesterday I went out to my transmission and matched up the plugs on the transmission with the plugs on the harness and everything seems to fit, were they talking about on the engine side? and what do I do if they don't match up in the engine bay?(after comparing that harness to pictures of the automatic transmission harness on FRSPORT the stuff on the engine side looks the same, am I missing something??)
2. am I going to lose my cruise even if I'm not splicing wires? what do I do to get it back?
3.I'm not going to install the clutch inhibitor switch, will my car start without jumpering any wires? if I need to jumper wires can someone give me a picture of which ones specifically?
my car is an s13 btw, I already put in the mt ecu and starter so the rest should be cake (just the big pieces left)
