5 speed trans. problem

Ok I'm victor and I have a brain buster of a problem need some help with. My 90 nissan 240 single cam is stick shift and I have a transmission problem the car won't pass 75mph. it goes in to neutral on its own at that speed no mater what gear I'm in. Even if I hold the gear in it doesn't pop out but it goes in neutral still and it has new clutch and flywheel, and this is the 2nd. transmission. can some one help?

that is a real noodle scratcher. Same problem on both transmissions eh?

Well can't imagine why they'd be popping out of gear and sliding into neutral if they were standard transmissions and if you were holding them both in gear. maybe bad luck with transmissions?

Any more details on your situation? like was it converted to a standard, blown transmission or motor mounts, any driveshaft work, etc

nope born standard. and when the problem started it was still stock.

Maybe right or wrong, but could it be the speed sensor? My 92 hatch shuts down to idle at 115mph.

So the transmission is still in gear, but giving it gas doesnt accelerate? When you hit the gas does the engine rev without speeding up the car or does the engine not rev? Give a detailed description of what happens with the engine and the speed of the car.

hey i have a 91 240sx and whenever i go to shift into 3rd gear it always grinds. when i'm driving if i push in the gas or let it go i can feel my gear shifter go in and out i was wondering what it might be?

115 = fuel cut. you can work around it with an auto ecu to some degree.

if the problem is at 75 mph, are you hitting a fuel cut at ~3k rpm or so? if so, there may be something triggering the 5th gear sensor and that could be your problem.

what else was replaced when the car had it's clutch/flywheel replaced?

yours shuts down at that speed cause thats the cars top speed uyou won't get any more from it. but i'll check that out.

the car when it shuts down it does nothing at all till I push the clutch and release then it reengages and runs again but will not run under a heavy load. like full on acceleration from a stand still. at 55 mph. the car shuts down.

nothing that was all i did to it. but did the same thing at stock. some one told me to check the ign. coil may be it has low voltage or a bad ground.

This post has horrible english / punctuation / grammer, etc... from what I think you are saying, it sounds like your clutch is slipping.

what rpm is this happening at? if its around 3000, than its probably your maf. if the shifter is popping out of gear on its own, it could just be a bad transmission. i feel your pain though ive got to put my second transmission in this weekend. mine had a similar problem but much worse, the only gear that would work was 4th the rest would pop out no matter what speed.
