I recently converted my car to a 5 speed

But when i ran the wires on the inhibitor switch to the reverse switch i cant seem to get the top to work. The Green/Blue wire doesn't have any kind of voltage and the brown/yellow is a ground... is that right?

I've been looking through many threads trying to see why mine doesn't seem to work. Why wouldn't my green/blue be getting voltage?

Obvious question first. Have you checked the fuses? The G/L circuit gets its voltage from the bottom right fuse of the driver's kick panel. But it should be a constant 12v when the ignition is turned to on. The Br/Y completes the circuit to the top switch.

Just went out and checked and the bottom right one is blown, could have sworn i checked all of them lol. I put a new one in and it blew. What would cause that?
I undid the wires going to the reverse switch and just looped the b/y to the b/g to try to get the top working.
Whats confusing my dad and i is that the brown/yellow is a ground when we have it on the tester, and if that's true wouldnt it short out if the green/blue is a hot?

Also, My speedo doesn't work. How can i go about fixing that?

You've got a short somewhere. Trace the Br/Y circuit. It should go through the firewall grommet on the passenger side to the ATCU. It splits off under the dash to a different color wire to go to the top switch. Just to eliminate the switch, test continuity with the switch unplugged and see if maybe your issue is a bad switch. Also, I can't tell from your pictures, but you don't have the AT lower harness still plugged in, do you? That needs to be unplugged.

As for your speedo, if it was working before the swap, make sure everything is plugged in properly and you're using an MT speed sensor.

Alrighty ill try to follow the brown/yellow later today, I have the manual lower harness so do i just need to unplug the inhibitor?
And for the speedo ill have to ask the guy i bought it from if it worked because the motor was locked up when i bought it. I know when i had the tranny in my hatch it worked.
Thanks for all the help so far.

I found the short, it was the small green green 2 prong relay/fuse in the fuse box, it seemed to be blown.
I'm not sure what it does but i unplugged it and the top works and i see no other problems.
