OK fellas, I need some advice as I don't have a clue as to what to check to fix this. I started the car after the swap to check to make sure all my wiring was good. Everything works, reverse lights, top, and it started right up. Problem is, it is idleing at about 3000 rpm!!!!! I changed the ecu to a manual as I read the auto ecu makes it idle high. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Install auto ECU back and see what happens. 3000 rpm is way too high. Something's not right. I don't think you can lower it to 500-600rpm because adjustment screw will bottom out.

I swapped ECUs at least 3-4 times to see the difference on my car after the swap, but I didn't see any, so I kept auto ECU. Anyway, definitely try auto ECU and get back to us.

you know, know that I am thinking about it, I really backed that idle screw out a lot when I first got the car trying to raise idle. I am going to try taking it back in, and if that don't work I will plug the auto ecu back in and see what I have. Thanks for your input 94_240sx.

Well, I ran the idle screw all the way in, no help. I changed ecu, no change. I was standing there looking at motor and was going to rev it up from the cable wheel. I grabbed the wheel and reved it, then I noticed how tight the cruise cable was. I loosend up the cruise cable and idle dropped right down. I was then able to adjust idle to 800 rpm with adjustment screw! Problem solved

All that is left is waiting for my control arm boot (the one that goes on the transmission) to get here on wed. and I will be able to put interior back together.

Good to hear that. When you adjust idle, you are supposed to disconnect TPS and reconnect afterwards. I hope you did that.

I think idle will go up a little if you plug in. Check the FSM. If I remember correctly, you unplug TPS, adjust to 500-600 and plug back in. That way idle will be around 600-700 range. 800 is a little on the high side.
