Is everybody that does their 5 speed conversion really just starting their cars without pressing the clutch?? I would like to keep this feature.... i been searching on here, zilvia.net and some other forums on how I can do this but there is really no how to..... if there is please lead me in right direction so I can at least try it first then I can ask questions. I found some wiring diagrams also but honestly I didn't know what exactly what i was looking for. Once I get this squared away I'm planning on posting a video on youtube on what I did to rewire and keep this press clutch and Start feature.

Below are some pictures I took of of my auto transmission wiring harness, Transmission, sensors, Fuse box..... Feel free to draw on them to help me REWIRE AND KEEP THE PRESS CLUTCH/Start Feature...

Here is the whole Auto Transmission.

Here is a Closeup of the harness (the colors might be a little faded but can still tell what color is what)

inside engine bay plugs coming from fuse box

another shot of the plugs inside engine bay.

What color wires do this hook up to on the harness??

You don't have a clutch interlock relay. It's the big blue relay that sits in the passenger fender well on the M/T models. The interlock system is a US only feature. It was added because the government thinks most people are too stupid to remember that if they try to start their car in gear that it will jump and die (assuming they have the wits enough to use the parking break). Trying to modify the auto harness isn't really going to be an option as none of the auto wiring relies on a clutch interlock relay. The car only gets the start signal if the inhibitor switch is set to park or neutral. And all the wiring that is related to the interlock relay will not be on your car.

If you want to wire yours up like a factory 5-speed for whatever unknown reason you want to do this, you'll need to source the relay. Then grab yourself an FSM and flip to page EL-12. Copy the wiring diagram from that page and you have what you desire.

However, if you want your car running and you don't feel like spending extra time sourcing unneeded parts and running unneeded wiring, just jump the park/neutral safety switch like everyone else and enjoy you're running car.

And here's a word of advice. If you want people to take you seriously in this attempt, I would highly suggest that you fix where you jumpered the 75A alt fuse. It's hard for me to believe that you have an issue with jumpering a simple park/neutral circuit when you have no qualms jumpering probably the most important fuse in your car.

You can hook up the switch without buying all the relays and crap. I did it in my car. Now I just need to remember exactly what I did. I remember it was easy and straight forward. Though I did end up just jumping the switch when it decided to break a month later. It is nice to have though, I almost got run over by a truck when a guy tried starting it in gear having the switch bypassed. So it is nice to have. I think I did something with the wiring making the switch act like the car is in park when the clutch is pushed in.

why not just take the wire you need to jump for the starter to get power and run wire from them to the switch on the clutch pedal assemble. then when you press the pedal in. it presses the switch, completing the circuit and allowing you to start the car?
