hi guys,

My mechanic is telling me I need new rotors in order to perform the 4 to 5 lug hub swap. Is this true? I always thought it was a straight swap, calipers and rotors were interchangeable, no? Any help or suggestion, pointers, things to look out for, would be much appreciated, thanks

if you have 4 lug right now, yes you will need new 5 lug rotors

the hubs will swap no problem, I would advice on changing your wheel bearings while you're at it.

but the rotors will not.since the rotors have either 4 holes or 5 holes

the actual size of the brake is not changed I think, so the calipers can be used on the new rotors with out any problems (I think)

hope this can clarify a bit

thanks bro, was hoping to get away w/using my current rotors (yes, I have 4 lug right now) since they are almost new. Another question, if I have a muffler with a 3" inlet, can I still use 2.5" piping, or will I have to use 3". Can get a good deal on a brand new muffler with a 3" inlet, but I want 2.5" piping for the cat back.

thanks again
