OK guys, my first post..... I am a newbie but not new. I have over 15 years in this industry and am proud to say i now own 4 240's. I would like everyones opinion on the effects not whether they like the idea or not on redrilling the front hubs to five bolt. What if I just made a template and put the hubs in the drill press and redrilled them for 5 bolts. I know other cars have had people do it. I am wondering what everyones idea is on the weaking of the hub if any. I could also machine a plate to back up the lugs or weld the extra 4 holes shut. I would be a little concerned about screwing up the balance of the hub.

thanks

Do a search on either zilvia or freshalloy. This has been discussed on both those forums, including pictures by someone who did it.

lots of people do it, and to my knowledge, no one has had any problems. Just make sure your drill bit isn't too large.

He's one step ahead of you matt.

My only concern is the weakening of the structure. But it definitely sounds like an ingenuitive idea.

Ok...so I don't read whole posts and am an idiot

I know there's someone on freshalloy who did his hubs like that and has been running for quite a while. For just driving on the street I would consider it. With the number of track days I do however, I wouldn't risk it, just a peace of mind thing.
