I'm trying to decide on a good brake setup for my S13. I've foud a few places that sell the "Attain 5 lug hubs" or something like that for the fronts. I was planning on getting a set of those for the fronts and and some S14 hubs for the rear (assuming theyre direct bolt ons). I would like to use Q45 front brakes and the stock S14 rears..

my question is, will the q45 brakes work with the aftermarket front hubs?(I'm sort of a wheels, brakes , suspension newbie)thanks

i don't see any reason why not, if they work with stock brakes (aside from # of lugs of course), they will work with Q45 brakes.

i hope you know you don't have to do a five lug swap for the q45 brakes, you can just redrill the rotors.

and yes, the S14 (and Z32 NA) rear hubs just bolt right up.

Yes they will work very well.

ATTAIN reverse engineered the stock hub and put the S13 bearing in it. It's identical to an OEM nissan hub.

Here's a catch I came across.. both my brand new in the box attain bearings were JUNK. Creaking upon final torque. All balls were scored. Never seen this problem with any new in the box bearing but glad I checked.

Anyway, be ready to have the attain bearing pressed out and new OEM S13 replacement bearings installed, just in case.

Do the 5lug anyway. There are a ton of wheels available.

thanks for the advice guys.. I'm really on the fence about the 5 lug conversion. I'm using 15x6.5 +22 wheels right now, and although theyre drilled for both 4 and 5 lug I'd imagine they won't fit over the bigger brakes, so I'll probably be in the market for wheels anyway. If I can find a shop to redrill my rotors I think I might take that route. The only problem I'm worried about is making the shop does a very good job drilling the rotors. If anyone has any experience with redrilled rotors and wants to share some advice, I'd appreciate it.thanks again

it is ok to redrill your rotors contrary to what many tuner mags say. hell, a few guys on here have redrilled their own rotors in their garage and they work fine
