Hi guys, dont smack me to hard but I know some of you have the links in your favorites or will tell me right off hand yes or NO. I found a local 1993 twin turbo Z31 (without title), or thats what the guy tells me and i'm ready to go rape the parts from it. it has the full axle assemblies on it and I was wondering if the fronts or rear will work for the conversion of Hubs or Brake systems to my 1993 240sx (hatchback). The owner told me its four wheel steering so I'm starting to think no but from the few threads and numerous articles I've found, I'm thinking NO. Please clarify for me "Nissan Kings" and Princes if there is anything I could use besides the motor. I have a four day weekend this weekend and could use it to do the conversion. Help a lowly peasant out. Thanks in advance.

Just a side note, I have made numerous notes from threads, e.g
"the rear conversion is much easier, in terms of parts combinations. Simply find a 5-lug hub from an S14 240, or a Z32 300ZX. The non-turbo hub is identical to the unit used in the S14. The 300ZX TT hubs are different and will not work in any case. I have learned that it is a good idea to try and source all of your parts from the same donor such as the hubs, e-brake back plate, bolts, etc. Although this is not a requirement, it will help.
You can use brand new OE parts, source out used components, or check out PDM 5-lug rear hubs."

The fronts will not bolt up as the Z uses a different style of hub than the 240s. The Z front hub doesn't slip on a spindle like the S chassis hubs do. Instead, the spindle is part of the hub and it bolts to the back of the knuckle. You will need to source your hubs from an S14 with front knuckles, or get a set of conversion hubs.

As for the rears, you'd need to swap the entire rear end over. The Z's rear track is nearly 3 inches wider than the S13's, which typically means the axles are going to make up the difference in track width. The subframe will also be wider to accommodate and as far as I know, nobody makes a set of conversion bushings for that swap. If that wasn't bad enough, all TT Z32s came with HICAS, so you'd need to get a HICAS eliminator.

The alternative here would be to hybridize the axles. I've heard of people attempting this, but I don't know if I've ever seen in successfully done. It would allow you to use the shorter 240 center section but maintain the TT spline counts. You could also stick with the 240 rear subframe and the hubs will bolt to the iron uprights.

I would say trying to get the full 5 lug from the car will be overly expensive, but if the brakes are still there, grab them. And grab the full rear upright and swap the rear e-brake assemblies to your iron uprights. Plenty of shops offer 4 lug drilled rotors (I'm running a full set of rotors on my Z brakes with 4 lug), so going to 5 lug JUST for the brakes is unnecessary.

If you wanted to swap to the aluminum TT upright, you could, but you'd need to change out the shock mount of your shocks to match the fork style AND the HICAS model will have a ball joint in place of a standard bushing for the rear toe rod. Nismo makes a bushing that will press in, but as I know, nobody else makes a bushing to fit. The HICAS model uprights use a slightly larger bore for the ball joint, so any kind of metal sleeved bushing won't fit. The Nismo bushing was designed to work regardless of if the upright was for HICAS or not (no metal sleeve). When I purchased spherical bearings for my HICAS uprights, I had to let SPL know so they could include the proper OD bearing casing to fit.

Thank you, I'm going to just grab the calipers and the MAF. that would be more work than I wanted to do this weekend plus the guy wanted me to swap my stuff for his incase he has to move the car. I'll just get the brake goodies then. thanks again
