I am having problems unlocking my car with the keyless. It is going on with both remotes even though i replaced the battery. The lock works great but the unlock takes a quite a few even if you are in the car.

Any suggestions?

I have a lot of problems getting all of my doors to unlock with my remote. The driver's door unlocks on the first click every time, but the other doors takes several extra clicks or some weird timing that I never seem to get right. Very annoying. I have asked about reprogramming the remote to unlock all doors on one click, but everyone I've asked has told me no.

As far as your problems go:Is it the driver's door (first click) or all of the doors (second click)? How about the trunk release?

Maybe the remote needs to be re-synch'd to the car. There's a procedure for programming remotes from the driver's seat. That might help.

I pieced this together from another post for a '00 & '011. close & lock all doors2. key in & out ignition 6 times (hazards flash 2x?)3. turn the key to the acc position4. unlock and relock the doors with the switch on the driver's door5. hit the lock button on the remote. If it worked the hazards should flash again6. remove the key, get out and close the door7. try the remote

How about we try something a little less involved?

Let's isolate the problem.

When you're in the car and you push the little lock/unlock button, does it work on all of the doors?

If so, then it's the remote or possibly the remote receiver.

If the internal button doesn't work or only does so sporadictly, I have another question:

Has you car been in an accident? If yes, then one or more of your doors are probably crooked and the lock mechanism is probably interfering with the lock actuator(?).

If no, try cleaning the door locks. Sticky hands can cause sticky locks.

If that still doesn't work, then I'd blame your car battery or the actuators(?).

To test if it's the battery, turn on your headlights and the interior dome lights, then try locking/unlocking the doors. If the lights dim, it's probably your battery.

OK?

that really is not the answer for me.

my lock works perfect but the unlock button on my remote just doesnt seem to want to put out a signal, ever.

*shakes head*

Then the problem exists in the receiver or the connection between the receiver and the lock actuators.

People and their innability to apply solutions perplexes me.

You may just need to clean the contacts inside the remote. Clean both the contact areas on the circuit board and the button-side contacts with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab. Don't be afraid to soak things or scrub with the cotton swab, the alcohol won't hurt anything. Then just snap it all back together and give it a try.

I can't count the number of "dead" electronics I've R&R'd (rescued and resurrected) from friends and family members this way.

Minister,

Your idea doesn't hurt, but I doubt that's the problem if BOTH of his remotes aren't working.

The receiver thing is something I'd take to the dealer.
