You're such a kidder. Everyone knows that humans can't live at 122 degrees.

I was mowing the yard on 6/26/90 when the temp hit 122 in Phoenix.

Sky Harbor airport closed down because the tarmac (runway) was melting. :)

The inside of a closed car can reach 190 degrees, and the surface of the blacktop can cause 2nd-degree burns on contact.

Windshields blow out spontaneously, batteries and tires last a year, and new cars kept outside fade within 2 years.

Fresno? HA. :firedevil

The good news is I have never owned a car that rusted, there's no need for a clothes dryer, you can plan a car show or picnic ANY weekend, the girls wear skimpy clothes all year (and less in the summer), no need for a snow shovel, mittens or thick socks, and if your heater core goes bad, you just cut the hoses and bypass it.

it doesn't get cold in your part of the desert in the winter?

it gets ridiculously cold here in the winter, by california standards... god i hate it here. we get temps from 20 to 110 during the course of the year. plus we get all kinds of wind which makes it more horrible in the winter. it snows usually once a year here, but it doesn't stay past noon the same day.

Checkered - 25% humidity in AZ means "it's humid out." Usually more like <10%.

Ryan - Coldest it gets in Phoenix is MAYBE 38. And that's for like a week in late january.

I have always worn shorts to hang Christmas lights (a task I HATE).

In July / August, sometimes the LOW temp is 100 (at 4 a.m.).

^ True.

I grew up in AL / MS, and I don't know how I survived.

Went to Ft. Worth a few years ago in August for a week and sincerely wanted to kill myself... Horrible place.

I'll take 115 w/ 10% humidity over 85 w/ 60% humidity ANYDAY!

You know what... I just realized this is like those people you hear around town who have no personality and start conversations with, "Boy, it's hot don't you think?"

It's like mothers who start conversations with "Oh how old is your son/daughter" pretending like they actually care when in actuality all they're doing is reaching pretty deep for companionship that isn't really there.

Much better than the summers I'm used to in Sacramento. The average temperature is 20-30 degrees cooler here!

Live in Houston during summer, and drive a big blue van with no a/c, and with no working windows (meaning I have to depend on the manual ones in the back) Then we'll see whats up. Lucky for me I'm skinny as hell, so I don't sweat to much (meaning, my whole shirt isn't wet, only half of it).

Sounds like hell in AZ, at least you got a/c, werd.

It's been abnormally cold here for this time of the year. Temperatures are usually between 80-90 and very humid/sunny but lately, it's been 70-80 with very low humidity. It's supposed to be about 65 or so sometime this week.

We may not have 120+ temps, but we got the humidity:

Forcast:

High:91°F Mostly Sunny Wind:From the East Northeast at 5 mph Precip: 20 % Max. Humidity: 64 % UV Index: 10 Very High Low:65°F Clear Wind:From the East Northeast at 2 mph Precip: 10 % Max. Humidity: 81 %

Who else has clear skies with humidity always above 60%, and the temp above 90?

Last week our heat index was in the 110's. Actual temperature was only like 90.

BTW... a temp of only 94 at 75% humidity (which is not all that uncommon for the southeast), has a heat index of 122. So Greg, I feel your pain :)

I think my brother does, and I think he reads through once and a while. He lives at the bottom of the P sound, but he's over in Mosul right now. He has told me the weather changes there quicker than anywhere else he's ever lived.

Humidity in NJ is about the same as it is in GA. FL is slightly worse though...perhaps the worst in the country.
