5.3l LM7 swap into s13

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

I couldn't get the search to return anything.

Has anyone on here done this swap in an s13? I know the LM7 is part of the LSx family, so can you use a smaller oil pan like the GTO?Will any LSx T-56 bolt up to this motor?Would an LS1 mounting kit work on this motor (motor/tranny mounts & such)?

Plus any info you guys got that i might have left out of the questions. I need ya'll to sway me one way or the other. I'm won't get an ls1, so this seems like a good, cheaper alternative.

I see you're in Bowling Green, KY. If you know Chris Long, definitely pick his brain.

But, to answer your question, yes, the 5.3, being a member of the LSx family can use the GTO pan, LS1/LS6 intake manifold, etc. T-56 will bolt up, motor mounts as well. If I hadn't found such a good deal on my LS1 and been worried about the small weight difference, I would have gone this path as well. The one thing you might have to do besides change intake manifolds, is swap accessories as well. In the end, however, I still think the 5.3 is a VERY good alternative to the LS1 as it can also be bored out to a 5.7 in case it ever lets go.
