After visiting the dealership numerous times and just sitting in them, I finally took a 6 speed coupe out for a test drive. :ohno:
The salesman was fairly young and new. He was a tech down in FL for Porsche so was actually knowledgeable about how cars actually worked as opposed to most of the salesmen.
He said that I was the fourth customer they had had and it was around 4pm!
So, I didn't feel bad about taking it out with very little intentions.
Initial impressions:
Steering was much easier than my G, which I did not like.
Coupe felt floaty, which I didn't like.
Overall, out of the box, the G feels much more connected to the road.
I think for $300 you could fix this with a set of Steeda Sport Springs, but the steering would still feel light.
But,
5.0 had POWER!!!!! Scary power!! :naughty: I have to admit, I miss the POWER!!
This one had the 3.73 gears and driving around town in 4th felt like I was in 3rd.

We cruised by my wife's work location and I called her to tell her to look out the window.
I cruised in front of her work and revved the engine!
She just said 'NOOOOOOOO!!!'

So, we went back to the dealership and next I wanted to drive an AUTO.
Only autos they had were converts, so we took one out.
Body flex was awefull!
Under hard excelleration, the front end would drift left and back right. :tisk:

They are supposed to call when they get an auto coupe in.
Bottom line is I need to go back and do some more extensive research..... :naughty:
The salesman was very cool....didn't mind when I came to a complete stop in the middle of the road and went thru the gears, so will go back when he is there. My foot only found the firewall in 2nd (I showed some respect), I need to see what she will do in 1st.

Leaving the dealership, driving my G home, I just kept thinking how well my G fit me and how much more connected to the road it felt!!! It just needs about 100HP more.....

And, there is a low mileage 08 G37S 6MT within spitting distance that they just marked down to $26K+....I think I might go test drive it for comparions. :gapteeth:

Went and test drove the 08 G37S!
It was great!!! Like brand new. One owner, local trade.
Drove so much better than the 5.0, but didn't throw me back in the seat.
Now I know this is picky, but I did not like the half console deal.
I rest my right elbow (arm) on the padded console of my 04 G35, but you have nothing under your rt elbow in the G37. So, that's a deal breaker for me.

So, I'm thinking Joe is right, just wait til the warranty is up and look into a SC.

But, the G37 IS a great deal if somebody local is looking!! $26.9K

"This one had the 3.73 gears"

Wow...that is a stout gear. Isn't that car supposed to get like 31mpg?

You just need to keep your Stang. Have your G for a daily driver and you American muscle when you have the need to get sideways. How many horses is your Slowbra putting out?

No longer have the slowbra. :frown:
Sold it a year or so ago to pay off a car that the Bank-Of-Daddy repoed and ended up selling....Bank-Of-Daddy took a loss on the deal....the slowbra... :squint:
So, I only have one car now.....but, 4 cars in my name.

the V6 Mustang supposedly will. The 5.0 V8 with that gearing won't sniff anywhere near that.
