Here is some info that might narrow down the problem. In 4hi or 4lo with hubs locked it grinds while accelerating and turning . While in 4hi or 4lo with hubs in free position there is no grinding at all.

Any ideas?

I just changed one outer hub assembly because the hub was hard to engage. (manual hubs). I have an extra hub also if anyone thinks it could be my other hub.

P.S I didnt get into the hub internals where the bearings are... behind the lock plate. Just the other portion was changed

likely not the bearings. More likely a dying halfshaft. Any rips in your CV boots?

Is the half shaft also called a stub shaft? and is that the one that the locking hub latches onto. The cv boots look to have no rips or holes.

Im about to go take it all apart and see whats going on

it doing this before you messed with the hubs? If so, it sounds like your hubs are broken or missing some parts, if not... Same thing. Try your spare hub to see if it goes away.
