My 2002 pathfinder 3.5l LE... When i start the engine 4wd warning light goes off
As expected... After driving for about 5mins the 4wd warning comes on
And the selectors light goes off...then i feel the truck is slowing down
...when i switch off the engine and restarts, the 4wd warning goes off only to come on after a short drive again...
I have changed my transfer fluid recently...in fact a week ago...changed tsar differential...maf meter...
Does anyone have any idea what is worrying my 4WD system?
Heeeellllpppp!!

Try following the self-diagnosis procedure described on page TF-60 of the factory service manual.

What fluids did you use?

Thanks a lot Towncivilian...never knew of these diagnostic stuff...I always leave it for service mechanics to do...I went through with it and I if my interpretation is correct I got...14 flickers ...followed by a pause and then....17 flickers...
So I guess am dealing with #throttle position sensor...and ...#abs operational signal circuit...kindly confirm if that's how the diagnostic f reading is interpreted..

Am now looking for someone to hell me fix that...and that to is another problem....but at least i have an idea what is worrying the car now...thanks.
On the fluid, prescribed fluid is hard to come by but I managed to get a dexron III atf for the transmission and the transfer....

Those readings sound correct. Have you ever flushed the brake fluid? Is the ABS light on or does it blink when the vehicle is started?

Try following component inspection for the TPS described on AT-184.

Dexron III should be fine for both the transmission and transfer case. How did the old fluid look?
