i dont know if this works on nissans, but i used to do mazda pickups (b2000 and b2200) and if we wanted our trucks to corner better for auto x or whatever we took the stiffer torsion bars of a 4wd b2600 and put them on the 2wd b2200 or b2000. would that work on the nissan hardbodies? take the bars off a 4wd nissan hardobdy and put them on a standard 2wd? if so id do it! cheap handling

I am going to say no to this because the 4wd torsion bar mounts differently and I think it's a different length. I am open to being proven wrong though.

I'm pretty sure they are different, partly because I have never read about anyone swapping them over like you described. The torsion bars on my 97 4x4 are about 47 inches long.

I still don't know for a fact if they are different, though.
