[[[side note : when I bought this thing I did notice that the 4wd light never came on...]]]

Ok there was snow overnight...
THIS morning get out to my daily (accord) with a broom in hand and I could hear cars slipping on the uphill...I tell myself ok Ill use the pathy today to avoid potential problems with untreated roads...SO...I start pulling out of where Im parked and I felt the slipping happening so I put the car on
>NEUTRAL and pull the shifter down to 4h from 2H
>I start going uphill no problems
>I hit a stoplight and go to NEUTRAL and push back the shifter to 2H
>hit the Highway and I noticed the 4wd light is ON Im thinking I still might be on 4wd so Im like :wtf2:
>hit another light so I try PARK shift it up and down hoping to get rid of the damn 4wd light - did notice the light would blink off then ON...but when I stick to 2h it just wont turn OFF
>green happens then I just leave the shifter to 2h and the light was on while on the highway running @55-60 mph
>got to work parked and the light went OUT...(in 2h)
>turned engine on and off then the light was gone (in 2h didnt shift or attempt to)

Question...
whats going on? Did I do it right?
whats the worst if it was stuck on 4wd running @55-60mph?

[[[btw....someone almost crashed into my rear end...he ended up on the middle island where all the snow was...I was on a turning left lane waiting for the light and I noticed this 90ish accord ended up on the middle island...im like wtf...OH (after 10 mins) he almost rammed into my rear (brainfart)]]]]

Do you have auto or manual 4WD? Try running the self-diagnosis on TF-60 if you have the auto-mode transfer case.

manual...
btw...played around the parking lot with 2wd....made some snow circles in the parking lot...then shifted to 4wd...could tell it was engaged but light does not ....noticed the light would come on later on...then tried to switch back to 2wd...the light would fizzle then come on....eventually it would turn off...so all I can say that the shifting is fine....just that light is playing tricks

OK, try following the diagnosis procedure on AT-47. I don't know if it'd help any with a 4WD light issue but I didn't see anything listed in the TF section for the manual transfer case and 4WD light diagnostics.

Have you ever changed the transfer case fluid?

I'd try that first, along with the differential fluids if you haven't changed those within the past 2 years/30k miles or so too. Even if it doesn't solve your issue, it is a prudent idea.

Extreme cold weather can do funny things to the operation of the 4WD system.
It's been ridiculously cold here, so I'm curious to know how cold it is where you are.

For all-mode 4WD, it has to be -10F or colder to mess with it. Around that point, a cold transfer case will lock it in 4Hi if you select Auto mode. Driving around a few minutes will solve that.

Manual might be slightly different, but doubt that there'd be any issue at those temps.
