HI every one. I am new here so be easy on me. I have a 2013 infinity m37s with just over 61,000 miles and these pesky lights wont go away. Have anyone out there have this problem and what fixed it? I called corporate and they advised no issues have been noted about this problem, which I know has to be a lie. Need help. By the way of course my extended warranty just past.

Welcome to the forum.

I think others have had 4WAS issues and the general consensus is that it is INSANELY expensive to fix outside of warranty so people just get used to the system not functioning. There are no issues leaving the system as it is.

So you haven't had it scanned to see what the error codes are? That is the reason for a light! It means the computer has stored and error! I don't understand why people see the light and then expect it to get diagnosed over the phone or internet! You need a competent mechanic that will have a decent scanner to read powertrain codes. Most autoparts cheapo and free scanning won't read anything other than the engine and sometimes ABS or codes.

By the way I did have the codes scanned and it came back as c1138, 4was and I have checked out other threads. Most who have this issue states their cruise control does not work when these light came on, but my cruise control is still working.

Not sure if this will help troubleshoot, but there is a diagnostic menu that you can access by manipulating the power button and settings button at the same time:

How long have you had the car for and how long have the lights been on for?

Has the car had any brake work done on it (especially an entire system fluid flush) in your ownership?
Can you confirm that the tires on all 4 corners are the same size and manually check their pressures are relatively equal.
This question is in line with alignment. Have you had it checked?

The C1138 code points to either a bad 4WAS control unit or a bad ABS module...or a communication problem. If I were a gambler, I'd go for the ABS module first.
Thanks for providing the code btw. It helps tremendously

Hi, I had that issue and tried everything to solve it without going to Infiniti. Nothing worked, and in the end it costed arround 7000€ (8000 $) to fix the problem. Sorry....

Adam, do you mind listing the different things that you tried outside of Infiniti, and what Infiniti ended up doing to fix it?

So, the story went like this: I live in Germany, and here you have to go every 2 years to get your car inspected. At this inspection there can be no "warning lights" on your dash, or they wont let your car on the street. As I had 4WAS problem, and knew it was going to be expensive, I gave my car to a car racing company that had a lot of experience in car electronics....they only managed to turn off the 4WAS light, but it came on in a couple of days again. Than I took it to Infiniti and they tried with a couple of sensors, but nothing worked. In the end they had to exchange the whole 4WAS system, they never told me what was exactly wrong with the old one. The good thing was that they took pictures from my service book (every service was done by Infiniti) and they send those pictures to Infiniti in Japan with the exact explanation what is happening and that this kind of error should not happen on 50000km (40000 miles). They shipped all the parts than from Japan at no cost, i just had to pay for the work done by the Infiniti Germany (arround 500 dollars). I really had luck with that, but when something goes wrong with Infiniti than its really expensive (at least in Europe..).
