6th gen manumatic transmission is only 5 speed. The Manual is 6 speed.

Basically, yes it would be possible. But it would require quite a bit of work. The only thing I can see being straightforward would be mating the bellhousing to the engine, which should bolt straight up. Everything else would require some work and/or modification.

I'm at work so I don't have a lot of in-depth tech info with me, but I'd imagine trans mounts will different (and remember that this isn't just your usual 4th gen auto-to-5speed swap--that trans never came in that car, so neither set of mounts will work) axles/output shafts will be different, you'll need the correct TCU and other electronics,

Also remember that the 6th gen auto has a gated shifter with the current gear displayed on a single-character digital display in the dash (which you could in theory mount wherever you want it).

2004 to 2006 is a gated design. 2007 is not, but is a CVT only transmission.
