Most of you already know that I have a decent amount of experience with the CA18 motor. And with that said, I think it would only be fair that I move past my R&D stages and come back stronger in the power and durability areas. I've been using my fiance's little sentra as a prototype and test bed and am proud to say that after a couple of months of down time, I will be resurrecting this puppy near or on the 4th of July.
Thsi car now sports Tomei 270 cams in which I've traded my HKS 264s with Jon (slw240sx). I'm very sure that he'll get the kick he needs out of those cams because I got the kick as well. I'm also sporting some unidentified racing double valve springs for high rpm support. The head has been redone with new valve guides, a 3 angle valve job and a mirror finished surface, but unfortunately it was not ported and polished like I originally intended for it to be.
It will also sport a heavily treated Nismo 1.2mm headgasket, ARP head studs, CP pistons treated and coated, re-shotpeened rods, new rod bearings, old mains (in perfect shape after 3 years of abuse) old oil pump, new water pump, new timing belt, new camshaft seals and new vlave cover gaskets and half moons.
Old school equiment is MSD DIS-2, SDS efi standalone, MSD 72 lb/hr injectors, custome T3/T04E with upgraded 60-1 front wheel and housing and .48 rear housing for quick spoolability, custom log manifold with HKS 40mm wastegate attached, blitz super sound bov on the hot side, Greddy Type R BOV on the cool side, custom intercooler, 3 inch exhaust with magnaflow muffler in the middle and blitz NUR spec sending out the noise.
This car also sprts a custom 3 gauge A-pillar, custom instrument cluster, Nardi JDM steering wheel, power steering, A/C, a custom gearbox with custom axles, 99 Sentra Se gunmetal wheels, NX2000 big brakes, custom rear disc brake set-up, KYB struts, intrax springs, rear mounted battery, etc, etc, etc..
So, without further a due, here's more fruits of my labor:
The old valve springs you see here are now in the garbage can.
Treated metal head gasket! Oh, it won't leak if it wanted to.
Head and block is sealed tighter than ft. knox.
And the rest is to be continued.
