Yep, the editors of Automobile came out with their 100 coolest cars this month. Sorry, no 240sx or Q45 made the list but Nissan did place 3 of the the cool list and one on the uncool 10.

Cool list#99 300ZX Twin Turbo#55 240Z# 47 Skyline GT-R

Uncool listDatsun B210 Honey Bee

I was surprised that I either drove, ridden in or sat in 30 of the cool list and8 of the 10 uncools.

I personally hope number 1 is either a DB5 or a Stanley Steamer...

# 1 was the '63-'67 Corvette. The GMC safari conversion van and dodge caravan was shockingly omitted, but the Aston Martin DB5 was on the list and had a big picture. The Stanley Steamer didn't make it but the Mercer Raceabout (looks like the stutz bearcat)did make it.

Worst of the uncool was the Yugo and Aztek.

Some good choices but also some obvious plugs to their advertisers. For example, they included a new Chrysler 300C. Kinda silly.

LAME!!! The 50's Vettes were so much hotter than the 60's Vettes.

Is the GTO on the list?

Ferrari GTO yes, Pontiac GTO no. There were a few classic muscle cars on the list, closest to the Goat was the Chevelle SS 396

I always thought the '63 split window Vette was the best year. The styling is timeless.

I like a lotta cars on their list, but not all of them. Cool Citroen is an oxymoron IMHO. and many on the list are unattainable except to the super rich.

yeah, seems a good bit of the list is neato Euro cars or muscle.

I'm not sure why the 300C got nods on the GN though...I've yet to drive a 300, but the busted GN I drove was still pretty damn fun...

Besides the Nissans, I was glad to see a few of my favorites on there. The Ferrari 250GTO, the Lancia Stratos, the Plymouth Superbird, AAR Cuda and the Jaguar E-Type.

I *definitely* think the 300C should be off and the 350Z on the list. Come on...the 350Z is definitely cool.

I dunno. The 300C is a very menacing car. It's a car that'll turn Chrysler around once more, much like the Viper did.

Perhaps they'll take one from the Cadillac playbook and chase the super sedans with it. It'd be pretty feasible. The biggest problem I could see is the Diamyler ownership. They probably wouldn't let them chase the big AMG, but maybe. The Chrysler would probably be a better seller here then the Mercedes though.

I think a supercharged hemi with a T 56 behind it for about 50k with a tuned suspension could sell pretty well. I'd pass on the cylinder deactivation on that model though
