nothing new, SR's have been proven to push over 450rwhp on stock bottom ends. BUT for how long, its not about having high hp car for a couple weeks or months but having it reliable and lasting for awhile

In fact a stock SR20DET block can hold 450+rwhp reliabley with very good tuning and a great head. It just has to be tuned right and it can last for a year or more.

i disagree, 2 of my buddies have sr's both blew piston rings and both were VERY WELL TUNED and they didnt even have 300hp....but now 1 of the guys has rebuilt his SR with built bottom end ,and it is super nasty fast now and now i believe it can handle the hp cuz he's pushing over 300 now and no problemsbut i guess its the luck of the draw on the motors even though i disagree i do agree that "SOME" SR's can handle it just not my buddies i guess lol

Well it could have been defaults in the parts or they might have not tuned them right, alot of things could have happend but the fact is sr's can handdle 450+ rwhp perfectly fine for a long time when tuned right and looked after.

theres a good chance the motor he got was in bad condition from japan, thats the biggest downside to buying jdm engines, they know they have to get a new engine in 40,000kms, not alot of motivation to waste money on oil changes every 3K miles

Damn right. My motor wouldn't have lasted 2 months on stock boost with the stock turbo.

We have found that a stock SR20DET with a 3 inch catback and FMIC with stock everthing else put down right around 200rwhp- according to dynojet

more like 230-250whp. but thats not what he asked, he said stock bottom end and cams. im guessing around 400 with a t3t4 or similiar. i put down 370whp and its reliable.

that turbo looks laggy as hell! and why wasn't he revving to 7700? whats the breakup in the chart? also for boosted engines you take uncorrected value, not sae

I still haven't gotten any feed back on this question. Does anyone have any idea or at least know who I can check with to find out?

Nobody knows, its cheap and benificial to put cams in, so its done most of the time when upgrading turbos.

Very true. I made 473whp on stock cams and bottom end before I took the cmams out and was wondering who had the highest.

Well there then.

I, J-spec Tuner, here by declare SILVIADRIFTR, holder of the record of most wheel horsepower delivered by a stock cammed, stock bottom end SR20DET.

By the way, that F'n rocks

Ok back on the actual TOPIC of the thread:

That power is cool and all but the curve is absolute crap. Was there something wrong like a slipping clutch or something? Because he makes barely peak power. It's a completely worthless power band for any sort of real world driving. Even the 1000+ HP supras have friendlier power bands.

Just curious why is that. Oh and to everyone else, gratz on the dyno numbers.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that.
