469 dollar sr20 main pulley

so i was doing my monthly browsing wishlist when i came across this 469 dollar main pulley for an sr20. ive done some reading and this torsional crankshaft vibration seems to be able to cause some serious damage. now i dont claim to be some mr know it all(not yet anyways), but i feel halfway knowledgable in what im talking about and yet ive never heard of this before. is there any way something like this could be worth almost 500 bucks or is this probably just something that is blown out of propertion to earn a penny or two?

Are you talking about the harmonic balancer? If so, than yes they can get pretty expensive. They have to be very precisely machined for balance or it could cause uneven wear on the crank journals. Unless you are going for a super high end build though, and you rev the crap out of it all the time, I'd say the stock balancer is fine.
