Well I've replaced brake pads, rotors, tie rods, ball joints, wheel bearings, new tires. All of these things were worn out while improved it still vibrates a bit. I did an alignment also. The tension rods is about the last thing but they look good. Would these cause vibration? what else could it be?

Sorry if you have already described this more in depth in the past, but does the vibration change with speed or is it only at 45 mph? Is is it only under braking (i.e. you changed rotors and pads)? Does the entire car shake or do you feel it only through the steering wheel, etc? Have you checked the driveshaft- the carrier bearing in particular if you still have a stock style two-piece? There are too many variables to list at this point. Try to narrow it down a bit.

It is only under accel or steady speed at 45-50mph. I have a 1 piece alum driveshaft. Braking or accel dont change it any. It just shakes mainly the steering wheel. My rotors are drilled and slotted brand new. They have around 100 miles so they should be broke in by now. I greased the sliders up so they don't drag either.

How is your tire wear? They could be worn unevenly from either a bad alignment or incorrect tire pressure. Either could cause a vibration through the steering wheel. I have the same issue as you from about 60-64 mph. My tires are slightly cupped from running pressures too high.

Good luck with the hunt, I have been trying to fix a vibration problem on my s13 for more than 2 years....It's very frustrating. Is the rack and pinion of you car in good condition? I heard that it could cause vibrations.

Mine did the same.... Look into steering rack bushings. Only 12 - 20 dollars.

I have the same problem, but around 50-65mph. I am gonna change the tires next couple week, and see if the problem is gone.

I don't know how anyone expects a 20 year old car to be a smooth ride.

I had the same problem on my old 93 hatch, and on my z31. I changed the tires and the problem was solved.

i had a vibration at 70mph and it turned out to be my wheels being out of balance and one tire being lop-sided lol

is your alum. driveshaft balanced? I know the OEM ones have small weights welded on them from the factory.

yeah your tension rod bushings could be causing it easily. At least on mine it got rid of it.

or you could always go faster than 45-50 and it will go away. mine was doing the same on the steering wheel but after a wheel balance, it was gone. my wheels are bent but still gives a smooth ride.

Could be a road force balance issue with your tires on the rim. You may show balanced tires on your machine but if the tire have, say 25 lbs of road force it will cause a vibration. Every tire has a hard spot and a soft spot... every rim has a high and low spot. Matching these two differences together can allow for a smooth ride or a vibration. A quick google search can tell you more about what I am telling you.

Yeah, thats right, lots of work, fresh braking, rotors tires and wheels. Dropped on Ech. lowering springs...silky smooth baby, but its getting noisy, bushing failure, spring silencers....ahhhh, to have time to mess with it...

I didn't expect it to be a smooth ride at all. Who wants a rough ride and says oh well it's 20 years old?? In fact this 240 was a piece of s*** when I got it. I finally got around to doing sway bar bushings and new tension rods. FINALLY the thing doesn't vibrate. So basically it took replacing everything in the front end, even though not everything appeared worn out.
