I dont know anything about rims really, but i bought some rims, haven't attempted to mount 'em as yet but i'm a bit nervous. I have a '90Q45 and my question is, will a 45mm offset 18"wheel fit my car f&r. Will it require any additional hardware like spacers or anything. All suspension/brakes is currently stock. Please say it'll work fellaz i'd hate to know i F'ed up.

test fit it without a tire mounted first....then mount the tire...

also telling us 18" wheel without the width doesnt mean crap. tell us that, and we can start to help.-Chet

What kind of rims did you get by the way? Hopefully you got something that can hold up the weight of your car.

A 245 tire can be fit on a 8" wide and should be able to squeeze on a 7.5.....

But of course...they'll need to squeeze onto all 7.5" The wheels are Primax 488, reading the insert that came w/ it, i do see the load rating for the 18" size...maybe you guys can help me w/ this.

Depends on the width. 45mm was the OEM value for the 15 x 6.5 rim. So ...

If the width of the rim is 6.5" or 7.0", then it will probably fit (of course, your tire size selection with the correct load index for the Q may be very limited, if any are available at all!).

If it is 7.5", then I think you may have problems with anything wider than 235mm or 245mm tires (will touch the suspension stuff in front).

If it is 8.0" or more, you will probably have problems.

If it is 8.5" or higher, I would not even attempt to fit it - it will not work, IMHO.

All the above are assuming a 45mm offset, of course. Other offsets may make it work better, or a spacer will be required to put the rim farther out (more under the rim). Personally, I do not like the idea of spacers (do a search for a post by Grant as to why spacers are evil!)

Hope that helps a bit ...

I agree... It will also help if your car is not lowered, so if your iffy dont lower the car.....

Thanks fellaz, i cant find 235mm w/ a good enough load rating 95+ for the price i can pay. Therefore i'd like to go w/ 245mm. I tried one wheel on the front and it didn't touch anything but there wasn't a whole hell of alota space left back there-- Maybe 1.5" to the closest sus component. However since the car was in the air i think when springs come under pressure i'll get some more space since the part that it was closest to is curved (the part that connects to the upper link,,,what it that called,,,runs vertically). Will get a professionals opinion soon. I hope it works cause i'd hate to sell 'em.

Good luck with them - I hope you are able to make it work because they (the wheels) do look pretty good!

Keep in mind that 5mm or 10mm spacers might help but are not a good idea for a variety of reasons. For example, if you make them too large, you would also have to change the lugs. Pain in the neck.
