I know this isnt really a big major problem but, the oil filter housing is making it hard for me to sit the engine flush its resting on the frame of the car itself. can i trim some of the excess frame away b/c on the pass side they already have that metal removed? T45 and craigtoyz and anybody else thats into the swap please tune in I dont want to proceed until I know for sure. 1 other thing I have my engine pretty low and the p.s. pulley is hitting the sway bar any info on that will be appreciated also thanx. also how do you post the pics i wanna put my progress up

Hello my fellow Houstonian:) Craig can give you info on the oil filter but as far as I know with the engine mounting the way he did it the oil filter doesn't hit. As far as the P/S pump are you hitting after lowering the sway bar? We plan to use a 1 inch spacer to lower the bar. Craig dosn't have his P/S pump yet but he will be coming down to Houston so we can do the mounts on my car- as I have all the accessories on the motor you'll be able to see how everything lines up and maybe we can exchange some ideas in the process.

Once we get everything coordinated, if you're not too far from the Woodlands/Spring area, if you want you can stop by as well and have a look.

Just let me know if meeting up will be of interest and I can call you (PM me your phone#) and we can schedule the specifics.

Thanks,Nick.

i know one of the guys (450zxtt) actually mounted his engine a little bit sideways (higher on the drivers side) so that the oil filter would clear, he uses OEM filters as far as I know.

70k miles on his VH45DETT setup! The motor has well over 200k and has been boosting 10lbs since the motor has seen about 120k

I was thinking the same thing of sitting it higher on the driver side but it worked out fine!!! I've got a 3/4 gap when trying to close the hood so I removed the nose panel and I saw it was the thermostat housing how do I tackle this situation

Ok!!! so how much do you trim off, b/c I'm kinda clueless on how to make it work besides just hacking off some of the housing

Here's one of the only pics I have of mine. It's hiding behind the pcv line but I cut it off where I can still clamp a hose to it.

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

The first time I sat the engine in place, it was fully loaded, except the p/s pump. When the engine is centered, and at the height I have it at, I have 'the thickness of a bolt head'amount of space.(10mm head size.)

I plan to use a BFH to help round that area just incase. I am also solidifing my mounts to help make things less movable.

I tried after welding mounts in, and was able to take filter on and off, but it was hitting radiator in process.
