I always hated those "which turbo should i get" threads and now im doing one lol. My friend will give me his stock twins from his rb26 but i had already got a gt3271 with .78 ar for my rb25 setup. the motor will stay internally stock im just going to do aftermarket manifolds and fmic. i would like to run alot of boost and my hp goal is around 450hp. what should i do?

there's some work involved to fit 26 twins on a 25. if you want to do it right you'll probably spend an extra 500 bucks minimum just to fit them on. adapter flange, manifolds, lines, etc. after that, you'll find out the stock 26 twins cant get to 450 whp anyway. i'd go with that other turbo you have.

x2 you will probably be money ahead (and actually get to your goal) if you spend whatever cash is needed on making the 3271 work.

Personnally your 450hp goal is easy to get with gt32, i have an rb20 with injectors, fuel pump, fmic, gt32 side mount and running 19 psi, 340whp so about 400 to the motor, cant go higher because of my clutch, was able to get 370-375whp with that setup but i prefer to ran safe.

Thats not even a choice.

PITA to installPITA to work on (twins & associated equipment take up alot of room)More expensive manifolds, adapters, downpipes, oil & water linesY pipe for you MAF or twin MAF's etc.. etc.. etc....

Or Nice brand new turbo on your manifold.

gt32 all the way with a 6boost mani and greddy intake....i run a 3076 and was makin over 400 on my rb25 but your problem is gonna be the ringlands...they are very weak on the cast pistons that come factory in the motor...i have 2 motors both of which i have busted ringlands in...so save some money do at least pistons and rods if you wanna save a lil more weight in the rotating assembly....with a good balancing and tune you should be able to make that number easily...make sure if you do internals you get it balanced...i was surprised at how far off mine actually was with the new pistons and rods...im sure this has been leading to some of thje oil pump failures

yea the gt32 seems like so much less work now... the ring land problems are that common? mine is a newer s2 motor so it should be in decent shape- it looked like all the maintenance was done to it.. drive belts and t-belt/wp replaced etc. i wasnt really planning on tearing up the bottom end..
