Does anyone happen to know the rated CFM for the 42mm Mikuni sidedraft carb? Also, is this rating at 3.0in/hg or 1.5in/hg? Thanks

Which chokes do you have in them? IIRC, the 44's were just shy of 220CFM per throat and the 40's were right at 180CFM per throat but it depends heavily on what chokes (venturis) you have in them. At any rate, anything above a 40 will already outflow pretty much anything shy of an FIA head.

They're 40's apparently. Still too much?

3 40's are good for work on a 3.1L L28, so I'm going to say that it's a great combo, it's all about getting the jetting right and getting the correct venturis for the carbies.
