OK here's my problem. I dunno if it's me or not...but whenever I drive my car and i'm going a certain speed limit...using 40mph as an example...it feels like i'm doing 30...any ideas about what the problem is?

its probably the sidewall of your tires. for example.. stock sidewall is i beleive 60 with stock 15" wheels. i'm runnin 205/55/15s, the 55's really throw my speedo off, my 40mph is really like 35mph

I have Michelin Pilots (forgot the sidewall number)...with the stock alloys. That might be the case...I was driving on the highway and was doing 70 but it felt like 60...

Should be 195/60 or 205/60 I think.

ya.. check your sidewall number... its probably below 60, especially if your car is lowered.

Nah I haven't lowered it...it's stock. But I will check the sidewall.

Well maybe its the automatic transmission. I just swaped out mine for a 5 speed and my car feels like its going 50 when its only going 35. if people around you go the speed limit thats a good way to tell or have friend drive next to you and both go 30 and see if he's going faster. Then you can stop saying my car feels slow and say somethings messing with my speedo.

I do have an automatic transmission and it is kinda ******...but people usually go 10mph above the speed limit so maybe its just the transmission.

Ya it has to be the automatic transmission. It's doody. I just have to keep using it until I do a 5 speed swap and practice more driving stick. But yea the transmission is still good...I mean if it were something more serious I'd get the swap right away.

I have a bone stock auto with standard size tires and my speedo if off also, using a new car as a pace on a double lane raod it reads 40 at 37 and 85 at 70. Not sure whats up with it but I'm not overly concerned, i haven't got any tickets yet in this car.
